Schizotropic - The Life and Death of Marie Zorn
North American Tour (1999)

Richard Pinhas - composer, guitarist & electronics innovator is recognized as one of France's major experimental musicians and played a pivotal role in the development of electronic rock, his influence and innovations can be seen across a major section of todays most progressive electronic music and his band Heldon has a major cult following in Eroupe. His stature in France is analogous to that of Tangerine Dream: the father figure of an entire musical movement.

The Schizotrope project was born out of a desire to honor his friend, the noted philosopher Gilles Deleuze. In 1998, Pinhas teamed up with French 'cyber-punk' author Dantec and Schizotrope was born from this collaboration. The album, featuring these two tracks was compiled from tapes of the live shows, featuring Dantec reading from Deleuze's work, accompanied by Pinhas' live guitar (and with sound electronically modulated in real-time) Pinhas develops ever more progressive sound-scapes to accompany and weave through Dantecs emovive spoken word. This live album stands as a document of innovation and as a memorial to a departed friend.
